  • Don’t make any promises that you can’t keep..?

One cold night, A billionaire met an old poor man outside.

He asked him, “don’t you feel cold being outside, and not wearing any coat?”

The old man replied, “I don’t have it but I got used to that.”

The billionaire replied, “Wait for me. I will enter my house now and bring you one. ”

The poor man got so happy and said he will wait for him.The billionaire entered his house and got busy there and forgot the poor man.

In the morning he remembered that poor old man and he went out to search for him but he found him dead because of cold, but he left a NOTE,

“When I didn’t have any warm clothes, I had the power to fight the cold because I was used to that. But when you promised me to help me, I got attached to your promise and that took my power of resisting.

    MORAL:

Don’t promise anything if you can’t keep your promise. It might not mean anything to you, But it could mean everything to someone else.

  • Light the Lamp Inside

One night Shankaracharya was desperately searching for something on the street outside his small hut.

When his pupil returned from his errand, he saw this and curiously asked the Master, “Aacharya, what are you looking for here on the street at this hour?”

Shankaracharya replied, “I lost my needle, I am looking for it.”

The pupil joined him in the search, but after searching for a while, he asked, “Can you try and recollect where you might have dropped it?”

Shankaracharya said, “Of course, I remember. I dropped it near the bed in the hut.”

The pupil, utterly astonished at the strange answer, said, “Aacharya, you say you lost it inside the house, then why are we looking for it outside?”

Shankaracharya innocently replied, “There is no oil left in the lamp, so it is pitch dark inside the house. Hence I thought of searching for it outside, since there is enough street light here.”

While holding back his laugh, the pupil said, “If you lost your needle inside the house, how could you even expect to find it outside?”

Shankaracharya simply smiled back at the pupil and said, “Isn’t that what we do? We run to far away temples and walk up mountains to search for what we have lost inside ourselves. We are all seeking outside what we have lost inside us. Why? Just because it is pitch dark inside.

    Silly, aren’t we?”

“Light the Lamp inside you and find your lost treasure right there in.”

  • Change YoUr perception.

A pregnant mother asked her daughter, “What do you want- A brother or a sister?“
    Daughter:- Brother
    Mother:- Like whom?

    Daughter:- Like RAVAN.

Mother:- What the hell are you saying? Are you out of your mind?

Daughter:- Why not Mom? He left all his Royalship & Kingdom, all because his sister was disrespected.
Even after picking up his enemy’s wife, he didn’t ever touch her. Why wouldn’t I want to have a brother like him?
What would I do with a brother like Ram who left his pregnant wife after listening to a “Dhobi” though his wife always stood by his side like a shadow? After giving “Agni Pareeksha” & suffering 14 years of exile.
Mom, you being a wife & sister to someone, until when will you keep on asking for a “RAM” as your son???

    Mother was in tears.

Moral:- No one in the world is good or bad. Its just an interpretation about someone. Change YoUr perception.

REMEMBER: Not everyone who goes to a club is characterless and not everyone who goes to a temple is pure, so DON’T JUDGE!!

  • Comparison between two Generations

A youngster asked his father: “How did you people live before with-
    No access to technology
    No aeroplanes
    No internet
    No computers
    No dramas
    No TVs
    No air cons
    No cars
    No mobile phones?”

    His Dad replied:
“Just like how your generation lives today with –

    No prayers
    No compassion
    No honor
    No respect
    No character
    No shame
    No modesty
    No time planning
    No sports
    No reading”

“We, the people that were born between 1940-1985 are the blessed ones. Our life is a living proof:

? While playing and riding bicycles, we never wore helmets.
? After school, we played until dusk. We never watched TV.
? We played with real friends, not internet friends.
? If we ever felt thirsty, we drank tap water not bottled water.
? We never got ill although we used to share the same glass of juice with four friends.
? We never gained weight although we used to eat a lot of rice everyday.
? Nothing happened to our feet despite roaming bare-feet.
? our mother and father never used any supplements to keep us healthy.
? We used to create our own toys and play with them.
? Our parents were not rich. They gave us love, not worldly materials.
? We never had cellphones, DVDs, play station, XBox, video games, personal computers, internet chat – but we had real friends.
? We visited our friends’ homes uninvited and enjoyed food with them.
? unlike your world, we had relatives who lived close by so family time and ties were enjoyed together.
? We may have been in black and white photos but you will find colourful memories in those photos.
? We are a unique and, the most understanding generation, because we are the last generation who listened to their parents.
Also , the first who have had to listen to their children.
and we are the ones who are still smarter and helping you now to use the technology that never existed while we were your age!!!

  • Crow & Garuda – Just Drop

Once a Crow, holding on to a prey (piece of food), was flying to a place to sit & eat.
However, a flock of Eagles were chasing it. The crow was anxious and was flying higher and higher, yet eagles were after the poor crow.

Just then “Garuda” saw the pain in the eyes of the crow. Coming closer to the crow, he asked:
“What’s wrong? You seem to be very “disturbed” and in “stress”?”..

The crow cried “Look at these eagles!! They are after me to kill me”.
Garuda being the bird of wisdom spoke “Oh my friend!! They are not after you to kill you!! They are after that piece of meat that you are holding in your beak”. Just drop it and see what will happen.

The crow followed the instructions of Garuda and dropped the piece of meat, and there you go, all the eagles flew towards the falling meat.

Garuda smiled and said “The Pain is only till you hold on to it” Just Drop” it.
The crow just bowed and said “I dropped this piece of meat, now, I can fly even higher..”

There is a message for us from this story too:

    1. People carry the huge burden called “Ego,” which creates a false identity about us, that we create for ourselves saying “I need love, I need to be invited, I am so and so.. “etc…” Just Drop ….
    2. People get irritated fast by “others actions” it can be my friend, My parent, My children, My colleague, My life partner… and I get the fumes of “anger “…”Just Drop….
    3. People compare themselves with others.. in beauty, wealth, life style, marks, talent and appraisals and feel disturbed… We must be grateful with what we have … comparisons, negative emotions ..” Just Drop…
  • Make Life Beautiful and Grateful

A sweet short story with a great lesson… worth reading….*

Nearby, a building construction work was going on.
Lots of poor  labourers were working there and their small  children used to hold onto one another’s shirt and play “train-train”.
Someone would become the engine and others would become bogies
Every day these children used to take turns becoming the engine and bogies …
But there was  one small boy wearing only a half pant who used to hold one small green cloth in his hand and become the guard daily.

So  once I went to him and asked him ..”beta, don’t u also wish to become an engine or a bogie some time ?
He softly replied ..” Sir , I don’t have a shirt to wear so how will the other children catch me to make the train ?
I could see the slight wetness in his eyes..

But  It gave me a lesson…. he could have cried and sat at home and abused his parents for not affording to buy  him a shirt.
But instead he chose another way to play and enjoy himself..

In life, we don’t get all things we desire and we keep complaining ..
    I dont have a bike,  I don’t have car , I don’t have this or that etc…

Life is like that ….we need to make it beautiful  and be grateful for what we have ..

  • Donkey & the Tiger

The donkey said to the tiger, ‘The grass is blue.’ Tiger said, ‘No grass is green.’
Then the discussion between the two became intense. Both of them are firm in their own words. To end this controversy, both went to Lion – King of Jungle.

In the middle of the animal kingdom, sitting on the throne was a lion. The donkey started yelling before the tiger could say anything. “Your Highness, the grass is blue, isn’t it?” Lion said, ‘Yes! The grass is blue.’

Donkey, ‘This tiger does not believe. Annoys me He should be punished properly. ‘ The king declared, ‘Tiger will be jailed for a year. King’s verdict was heard by donkey and he was jumping in joy in entire jungle. The tiger was sentenced to one-year jail. ‘

The Tiger went to the Lion and asked, ‘Why Your Highness! Grass is green, isn’t it? ‘ Lion said, ‘Yes! Grass is green.’ Tiger said, ‘… then why am I sentenced to jail? ‘

Lion said, “you did not get punished for the grass being blue Or green. You have been punished for debating with that stupid donkey. Brave and intelligent creatures like you have argued with a donkey and have come here to get a decision”

    Moral of the story.:
Just don’t debate with donkeys or you will be punished.

  • Purpose of Life

logo_live_for_lifeTo find out the purpose of life, we always try to live a “Life of Purpose”.

Some of us prosper in the field of education and research; some becomes one of the wealthiest men, some other tries to become a celebrity.

But as soon as we die, our identity will become a body. People use phrases like: “Bring the Body”,
“Lower the Body”, “Take the body” etc.

People won’t even call us by our name whom we tried to impress whole life.
So, live a life to make that person happy whom you see in the mirror; spend money on the things you love, laugh till your stomach hurts, dance even if you are too bad at it, pose stupidly for the photos, be child-like.
Death is not the greatest loss in life – Loss is when life dies within you when you are still alive. Whenever you don’t understand what’s happening in your life, just close your eyes, take a deep breath and say: “I know this is your plan. Just help me through it”.
Life has no other purpose. Life is a fairy tale to go through – a journey to complete – an event to celebrate – and A CHANCE TO THANK GOD FOR THIS WONDERFUL GIFT.

  • Reality Is Priceless

A teacher was tutoring a class of students when she relayed a story about a cruise ship capsized while at sea, and on the ship was a couple that managed to make their way to a lifeboat but realized there was only space for one. You’ll never guess what lesson they learned from the story.johnny_automatic_launching_a_lifeboat_from_the_shore-svg-hi
A cruise ship met with an incident at sea. On the ship was a couple, after having made their way to the lifeboat, they realized that there was only space for one person left.
At this moment, the man pushed the woman behind him and jumped onto the lifeboat himself.
The lady stood on the sinking ship and shouted one sentence to her husband.
The teacher stopped and asked, “What do you think she shouted?”
Most of the students excitedly answered, “I hate you! I was blind!”
Now, the teacher noticed a boy who was silent throughout, she got him to answer and he replied,
“Teacher, I believe she would have shouted – Take care of our child!”
The teacher was surprised, asking “Have you heard this story before?”
The boy shook his head, “Nope, but that was what my mom told my dad before she died to disease”.
The teacher lamented, “The answer is right”.
The cruise ship sunk. The man went home and brought up their daughter single-handedly.
Many years later after the death of the man, their daughter found his diary while tidying his belongings.
It turns out that when parents went onto the cruise ship, the mother was already diagnosed with a terminal illness. At the critical moment, the father rushed to the only chance of survival.
He wrote in his diary, “How I wished to sink to the bottom of the ocean with you, but for the sake of our daughter, I can only let you lie forever below the sea alone”.
The story is finished, the class was silent.
The teacher knows that the student has understood the moral of the story, that of the good and the evil in the world, there are many complications behind them which are hard to understand. Which is why we should never only focus on the surface and judge others without understanding them first.
Those who like to pay the bill, do so not because they are loaded but because they value friendship above money.
Those who apologize first after a fight, do so not because they are wrong but because they value the people around them.
Those who are willing to help you, do so not because they owe you anything but because they see you as a true friend.
Those who often text you, do so not because they have nothing better to do but because you are in their heart.
One day, all of us will get separated from each other; we will miss our conversations of everything and nothing; the dreams that we had. Days will pass by, months, years, until this contact becomes rare… One day our children will see our pictures and ask “Who are these people?” And we will smile with invisible tears because a heart is touched with a strong word and you will say: “It was them that I had the best days of my life with.”
